NIKE x MEGAN RAPINOE
Nike x Megan Rapinoe — “Job Well Done”
Role: Art Director
Type: Experiential, DOOH, Social, Print Ad
Client: Nike
Location: Seattle, WA — OL Reign Final Match
To celebrate Megan Rapinoe’s retirement, Nike invited fans to “give her her flowers” — a campaign that honored her impact on and off the field. Centered around an experiential pop-up at her final OL Reign match, the activation was supported by a digital out-of-home (DOOH), print, and social campaign, creating a cohesive, emotional farewell to one of soccer’s most influential figures.
Concept
The phrase “give her her flowers” became the creative foundation — a literal and symbolic expression of recognition, admiration, and gratitude. The design direction embraced vibrant, expressive florals and Nike’s modern aesthetic to reflect Megan’s unapologetic personality, community influence, and lasting legacy in sport and culture.
Experiential Pop-Up
Located just outside the stadium, the pop-up invited fans to participate in the tribute through immersive, heartfelt touchpoints:
Complimentary bouquets with custom wrapping curated to mirror Megan’s bold style.
Commemorative posters designed exclusively for the event for fans to take home.
A photo moment for fans to share and amplify the campaign.
A letter-writing station where attendees left personal messages for Megan.
Each element reinforced the campaign’s emotional core — giving fans an active role in honoring her.
Extended Campaign
The physical activation was amplified through integrated digital storytelling:
DOOH: Large-scale digital billboards across Seattle showcased custom campaign visuals timed to her final match, extending the celebration beyond the venue.
Print Ad – The Seattle Times: A full-page tribute celebrating Megan’s career and community impact in Seattle and the world.
Social Media: Nike’s Instagram feed and stories featured a hero tribute post, event highlights, and user-generated fan content — connecting global audiences to the moment.
Art Direction
Led visual and experiential direction across all channels — from event signage to typography, motion, and digital extensions.
The cohesive look and feel unified emotional storytelling with Nike’s visual language and Megan Rapinoe’s Victory Redefined Capsule Collection, creating a seamless brand experience from street to screen.
Impact
The “Job Well Done” campaign transformed a milestone sports moment into a collective celebration. It bridged physical and digital spaces, drove emotional engagement among fans, and reinforced Nike’s commitment to honoring athletes as cultural icons — with authenticity, gratitude, and community at its heart.
