Sydney Colson and Theresa Plaisance are best friends, former teammates, and two personalities who simply cannot stay on topic.
Unsupervised brings their chemistry to a weekly podcast where reality TV, conspiracy theories, ridiculous games, surprisingly solid life advice, and whatever else crosses their minds are all fair game.
The creative challenge was fittingly unconventional: How do you build a cohesive brand for a show that thrives on having absolutely no structure?
THE CONCEPT — MAKE THE CHAOS THE SYSTEM
We treated Unsupervised like a 2 a.m. group chat meets a scrapbook brought to life: unpredictable, nostalgic, slightly unhinged, and completely rooted in Syd and TP’s personalities.
The identity pulls from scrapbook and collage culture, intentionally combining typefaces, patterns, textures, photography, handwritten details, and graphic elements that shouldn’t necessarily belong together, but somehow work.
THE IDENTITY
The logo takes inspiration from magazine clippings and handmade collage, combining mismatched letterforms into a wordmark that immediately feels playful and a little unsupervised.
The broader identity builds on a scrapbook-inspired visual language: layered photographs, clipped typography, patterns and textures inspired by Syd and TP’s personal style, and unexpected graphic details that make each composition feel collected rather than overly designed.
Childhood photos of Syd and TP add humor and nostalgia, making the brand feel like flipping through a scrapbook of an inside joke you somehow got invited into.
KEY ART + VIDEO
The scrapbook and collage system gave us a flexible framework for podcast key art, YouTube thumbnails, episode graphics, title cards, lower thirds, and supporting video graphics.
New photography, screenshots, cultural references, handwritten elements, and found textures could constantly be layered into the world, so every episode felt fresh without losing the personality of the larger brand.
The system could change every week because collecting, layering, and remixing was the system.
SOCIAL
Social became a natural extension of the scrapbook mentality: a running visual diary of the show.
Clips, quotes, episode promotion, memes, photography, and cultural references were collected and remixed using the core ingredients of the identity: clipped typography, layered imagery, pattern, texture, and nostalgic details.

UNSUPERVISED: LIVE
The podcast left the studio and became a live experience through tapings at TOGETHXR House during Final Four and WNBA All-Star Weekend.
We translated the identity into the physical environment through stage and screen graphics, signage, promotional creative, and branded event touchpoints, bringing the same chaotic visual world audiences knew online into the room. The live format gave fans a chance to experience what already made the show work digitally: you never quite know what’s going to happen next.
MERCH
The visual world extended into apparel and merchandise designed by Kristen Vasquez, translating the show’s humor and personality into something fans could wear. The merch carried the same irreverent spirit as the larger identity, turning Unsupervised from a show people watched into a brand audiences could participate in.
ART DIRECTION
I art directed the Unsupervised brand from concept through launch and expansion, working closely with designer Dea Vander Fertgus to build the identity and translate it across social, YouTube, key art, video graphics, and live experiences, with Kristen Vasquez extending the world into merchandise.
The central creative challenge was finding structure within the chaos. We needed enough visual equity that audiences could recognize Unsupervised instantly, even as every execution looked different.
Instead of imposing order on Syd and TP’s personalities, we built a system designed to keep up with them.
Two hosts. Zero supervision. Controlled chaos.
