Power of the Dream

POWER OF THE DREAM

Role: Art Director + Design
Type: Original Content, Documentary, Social, Community
Platforms: TOGETHXR × Prime Video

Power of the Dream tells the true story of how WNBA players took on a team owner who was also a U.S. Senator, and helped flip a Georgia Senate seat in the 2020 election by rallying behind now-Senator Raphael Warnock. Their stand changed their sport and the course of U.S. politics. The film was produced by Sue Bird, Nneka Ogwumike, and Tracee Ellis Ross.

Before it became a Prime Video documentary, Power of the Dream began as an idea at TOGETHXR. We developed a proof-of-concept trailer around how WNBA players used their collective platform to influence one of the most consequential races of the 2020 election.

An idea worth amplifying became a story worth documenting.

SOCIAL AMPLIFICATION

When the documentary premiered on Prime Video, TOGETHXR brought it back to the community that inspired it.

Our team created social creative for the release, turning long-form storytelling into shareable moments that introduced the film, spotlighted its central figures, and amplified its message.

The creative bridged the film and TOGETHXR's audience, promoting the release while continuing the conversation about athlete activism and collective power.

TIMELINE — THE STORY UNFOLDS
A visual timeline broke down the key events, showing how the players’ collective action grew from an on-court story into a pivotal political moment.

MEET THE CAST
A series of character-focused graphics introduced the athletes, leaders, and voices at the center of the documentary, giving audiences context on the people who helped shape the story and their roles within it.

PRESS SPOTLIGHT — NPR
We amplified earned media surrounding the documentary through editorial press graphics, including NPR coverage, extending the conversation beyond the film and highlighting its broader cultural significance.

QUOTE GRAPHICS
Pull quotes transformed powerful moments and perspectives from the documentary into standalone social content, putting the voices of the women at the center of the story directly into audiences’ feeds.

POWER OF THE DREAM ON TOUR

After the release, TOGETHXR took Power of the Dream on the road with community screenings that brought audiences together to watch the film and discuss it in person.

Stops included Chicago, Boston, Providence, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Ann Arbor, Atlanta, and New York City.

COMMUNITY SCREENINGS

The tour was more than a screening series.

Each event paired the film with community programming, including receptions and post-screening conversations about the themes and history behind it.

Venues ranged from the West End House Boys & Girls Club in Boston to Brown University's Granoff Center for the Performing Arts in Providence. In Chicago, audiences gathered at Guild Row Hall for a cocktail hour, screening, and discussion.

The documentary told a story about collective action. The tour created spaces to experience that story collectively.

ART DIRECTION + DESIGN

I helped lead the design team across every chapter of Power of the Dream, from TOGETHXR's proof-of-concept to the promotional creative for the Prime Video release and our screening tour, staying true to Prime Video's key art while evolving it further.

What began as helping visualize an idea became an entertainment marketing and community campaign across social, digital, and live experiences.

The creative had to honor the significance of the story while feeling contemporary, accessible, and distinctly TOGETHXR, keeping the athletes, their voices, and their impact at the center.
