This is a collection of personal projects I created during my Digital Arts minor.
I created a magazine called "Reconstruct"
and used the concept of a magazine cover
as a platform to comment on the way women
are portrayed in media–specifically print.
I 'constructed' a female's face using different sections of celebrities' cover images from popular magazines.
ICONIC SELF REPRESENTATION
Based on the concept of an "icon," what that means, and how it is visually represented–this what I created as my iconic self-representation.
EVERYTHING ON IT
This is a book I created based on Shel Silverstein's poem, "Everything on it." I used this to comment on relationships and how people look for and expect too much. (Click on the right of the images to explore the book). Enjoy...
This tactic is intended to expose questionable political assumptions behind commercial culture and brands by transforming mass media to produce ironic
or satirical commentary about itself.
These are a series of print ads that I "culture jammed." I chose the University
of Oregon athletics brand, which further comments on Nike (sorry Phil Knight).
I Photoshop-ed the exact ad but changed the message and slogans.
